Today's 1201 exemption announcement—a tri-annual "permission slip" of sorts that allows circumvention of DRM tech that gets in the way of otherwise legal activities- denied an exemption that "would allow people to rip DVDs they already own in order to transfer the movie to a device that cannot play DVDs (like a tablet)."
