When it comes to routers, you get what you pay for. However, if you just need some reliable Wi-Fi for moderate usage in a small home or apartment, our friends at the Wirecutter recommend the Linksys E3200.
The Linksys E3200 isn't the cheapest router on the market, but at $60 for a refurbished unit, it's got a great price-to-performance ratio. It has dual-band capabilities, Wireless N, and even good support for the
router-supercharging DD-WRT firmware. If you don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for a router and don't mind the slightly slower speeds and shorter range (or perhaps you have a less tech-inclined friend that does), the E3200 is one of the best budget routers you'll find. Of course, if you're a more serious internet user, you might want to spring for something like
