Build Your Own Color Temperature Lamp for Multiple Lighting Options from One LampThe temperature of lights can have an effect on how you sleep, and for creative types, certain light temperatures are better than other for projects. Instructables user jaybeesy wanted one lamp to rule them all, so they built a lamp that could swap between different temperatures on the fly.

The project uses a string of LEDs, some switches, a power supply, white balance strips, and a bunch of hacked together parts for the lamp itself. The end result is a lamp you can customize with any light temperatures you like. If you need to stay awake, you can use a bright, white light, and then flip it to a softer light later on. It's like the time-of-day screen brightness adjuster F.lux for the real world. Head over to Instructables for a guide to building this for yourself.
